The purpose of khutbas
Khutbas are Islamic sermons which are delivered regularly for the Jummah congregational prayer on Fridays. Khutbas serve as the main mode of preaching, reminding and educating the public about various topics, ranging from practicing good ethics, lessons from Islamic history and topics from the Quran to current affairs and their Islamic responses. Further information on the concept of the Friday sermon can be found here. Besides the regular Friday sermons, khutbas are also delivered on special occasions such as Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
You may find an archive of sermons below that have been delivered at Al-Firdaus. As of July 2021, khutbas are now regularly uploaded for the benefit of other Muslims and the general public. The latest khutbas are usually uploaded after their delivery in person.

Please note that the khutbas are delivered in the English language only due to the majority of attendees not speaking Czech. However, after the English versions have been uploaded, Czech speaking members of the community may volunteer their time to translate them into the Czech language. You may also help volunteer to translate the khutbas. Please get in touch with us via email or social media.
